Tamim Tops BCB Election Voting as 12 Directors Elected from Club Representatives

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) election was held on June 7, with the much-anticipated voting process determining the board’s next set of directors.

In Category 2, which represents Dhaka’s club cricket structure, 12 director positions were up for grabs. A total of 16 candidates contested the election, making it one of the most competitive categories in the BCB polls.

Former Bangladesh captain Tamim Iqbal emerged as the top vote-getter, securing 73 votes and comfortably earning a place on the new BCB board.

Joining Tamim among the elected directors are Sayeed Ibrahim Ahmed and Israfil Khosru, who both received 72 votes. Masuduzzaman followed with 70 votes, while Faisal Yasir collected 68 votes.

The remaining successful candidates were Fahim Sinha (66 votes), Shanian Tanim (66 votes), Sakif Ahmed (65 votes), Asif Rabbani (64 votes), Mirza Yasir Abbas (63 votes), Rafiqul Islam Babu (53 votes), and Dr. Shamim (41 votes).

With only 12 seats available, four candidates were unable to secure enough votes to earn a place on the board.

Syed Borhanul Hossain narrowly missed qualification after receiving 40 votes. Amzad Hossain finished with 32 votes, while Foiyazur Rahman received 23 votes.

Major (Retd.) Imroze Ahmed finished with 20 votes and also missed out on election.
